Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

Greetings and welcome,

The NYPD 10-13 Club of Broward and the City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts is delighted to have you join us for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. Below, you will find important information for the parade and staging area.

  • Parade Staging Entry: Monroe Street and 21st Avenue. (Please see attachment)
  • All participants must be in matching uniforms or in attire associated with that unit.
  • Due to recent changes and to keep confusion to a minimum, please do not enter the parade staging area before 11:00am, you will be asked to leave and re-enter.
  • Parade staging will open at 11:00AM closing at 12:30PM. The parade will start promptly at 1:00PM.
  • There will be absolutely no entries permitted once parade staging closes. Staff will be onsite to assist you.
  • Please give your group name when entering the staging area and please remember your entire group (those with multiple vehicles) must be present before checking in. You will receive your number at that time.
  • BEADS ARE PERMITTED, please refrain from throwing them. Hand-to-hand or a light underhand toss is highly recommended!
  • YOU ARE THE PARADE! Please minimize gaps by staying 10-15 feet behind the unit in front of you at all times.

**NOTE: AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, THE STAGING AREA IS SMALL. PLEASE KEEP YOUR ENTRIES TO A MINIMUM BUT NOT TO EXCEED 20 PARTICIPANTS. GOLF CARTS ARE LIMITED TO 5 PER ENTRY. DUE TO THE PARADE ROUTE AND MOMENTUM, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ENTERING BICYCLES, STROLLERS, OR SKATEBOARDS IN THIS PARADE.**

Below you will find the City’s Plastic Ordinance for your review. Please adhere to these rules as they will be strictly enforced. Anyone caught in violation will be asked to leave. Avoid distributing candy or items wrapped in any form of plastic, as wells as, gum, peanuts or chocolates.

The City’s plastic and Styrofoam ordinance passed in 2020, §97.08-97.12, prohibits the use of polystyrene (“Styrofoam”), single-use plastic and bioplastic food service products. This includes eating and serving utensils, tableware, containers, lids, plates, bowls, cups, straws, wrappings, bottles, bags or other packaging and all similar articles used for transporting or consuming prepared food or beverages. Reusable, compostable, or biodegradable materials may be used as alternatives such as paper, bamboo, and other plant-based fiber items.
